Microsoft WordProbably the best known part of Office Word is the word processing application. Word is so much more than a typewriter…but many of us still use it as such!
Typical Enhancements for Word include:
- Templates. By setting up a suite of templates Word can be enhanced to ensure that all of you business documents have the same look and feel with margins, and headers and footers, customised to suit your corporate stationery
- Style sheets. Styles are used to keep the look and feel consistent throughout a document or set of documents
- Tables. Tables are a powerful way to create lists which can be sorted and formatted much more simply than using Tabs.
- Tables of Contents and Indexes. Setting up templates, using the tools within Word, to give you tables of contents and indexes created from the information you have in the main body of the document. This can simplify the production of any documents where you need a table of contents at the start and an index at the end, which will update dynamically each time the main document is changed.
- Mail Merge standard documents. A set of standard templates can be set-up to speed up the process of creating Mail Merges. Mail merges can be used to create the classic letters and labels, and may also be set-up to carry out bulk e-mailing and create “directories” for information.
